From the moment the bride and her mother walked down Main Street in historic Concord and into Copper Penny Flowers, the wedding flowers were all about color—a deep warm coral. Mom’s pants and the leather handbag that landed on our counter boasted the color, providing inspiration as we began brainstorming floral designs for this wedding. The result? A stunning bridal bouquet featuring gorgeous coral poppies we procured on the last possible week of the season. To these beauties we added another shop favorite, panda anemones, along with garden and traditional roses in peach and salmon, accented with dramatic textured greens. The day was also all about Concord, with a church ceremony on picturesque Concord circle, a stay at the Hawthorne Inn on Concord’s Historic Mile, and a reception at the Fruitlands Museum property, established in the 1840s as a transcendental center frequented by such Concord residents as the Alcotts and Ralph Waldo Emerson. New history was made when the bridesmaids arrived displaying bright bouquets of punch-colored blooms, along with bright smiles. Stephanie and Peter, may this summer day take its place in your chronology as the beginning of a beautiful wedded life together!
