Busy graduate school couple Elisa and Winston called in family to pull off their fun and flirty wedding day, and we were happy to engage with helpful parents to create this dream event. To celebrate their love, they chose blue as deep as the deep blue sea for the groom’s suit and the bridesmaids’ gowns, with light blue accents for the groom’s tie and the groomsmen. We developed this theme in the bride’s bouquet by starting with classic white roses and adding panda anemones, blue thistle, blue tweedia, and silvery soft Dusty Miller leaves for a stunning and distinctive bouquet. A slightly softer mix of flowers that included gentle pink astilbe went into the bridesmaids’ bouquets, with a hair comb of white spray roses to decorate the bride’s classic twist hairstyle. Bringing his good humor and obsession for funky socks to the event, Winston joined his bride against a backdrop of classic barn-red for their personal rendition of an American Gothic portrait—including a hand-off of the pitchfork to Elisa and the addition of the bridal bouquet–before sweeping his bride off into a Fruitlands Museum sunset…
