Louisa May Alcott and her sister Anna, living at Orchard House in Concord, MA, joined with colleagues in 1856 to start the first amateur acting company in Concord. In 1919, the group changed their name from The Concord Dramatic Union to The Concord Players. They are still going strong.
Every 10 years, The Concord Players perform a stage version of Little Women. This year, in partnership with Orchard House museum, and in celebration of Louis May Alcott’s 190th birthday anniversary, Little Women—The Broadway Musical will be performed in Concord from April 28-May 13.
